~ By Bernadette Torres ~
Ash?©ninka Mino was born into a family of healers in a small community in central Peru. His sister currently serves the community as the local healer. When needed, Mino contacts his mentor, a Peruvian healer and psychic surgeon. Mino is very clear that he is not responsible for the healings that come through him. While Mino uses particular techniques (called elements) to facilitate client relaxation, openness and readiness, Mino is only the vehicle through which Paw?¡ (God) energy flows. Healings range from minor to the miraculous and include physical, emotional and spiritual levels.
Peruvian healers work with energy as do American healers, but the process is quite different. In central Peru, healings can go on for days until the desired result is achieved and can include the use of plants and animals (for example) if their healing spirits arrive to help. Out of respect for our culture, Mino uses elements that are soft and acceptable to Americans. Sessions are gentle and last about an hour. Some issues are cleared in one session. Many are cleared in three sessions and rarely, a client may require more than three sessions to clear an issue entirely (as there are more layers to clear off).
While Shaman is probably the closest term Americans can relate to what Mino does, Mino is humbly a healer who utilizes some aspects of healing as does a Shaman.
Last summer, I started seeing Mino to deal with a profound and debilitating state of depression I had been stuck in all year. I often couldn???¢??t eat or sleep, had stopped exercising and taking care of myself, and lacked the energy to get up and do what each day asked of me. I had lost or was struggling with most of the relationships and commitments in my life, and felt as though I were drowning in negative emotions and physical discomfort. Being worked on by Mino was amazing; I could actually feel many of these releasing or healing as it was happening. By the time my fifth session came I felt so cleaned-out and clear, far more able to forgive and let go of what was hurting me, and Mino and Bernadette reported I was arriving clean-shaved, well-dressed, and confident. Mino and Bernadette helped me to do some deeply important work during one of the most awful times in my life, and they helped me to treat it as something sacred and beautiful as well as painful. I immediately referred two family members, both of whom are current clients. R.M., ABQ
As an herbalist/healer of many years, I am honored to work with and translate for Mino and have this sacred work in my home. Sessions are affordable, hours are flexible. If you feel you would benefit from a session with Mino, please call for an appointment: 505-480-0920.
